| Abstract | 본 논문은 욥기 전체를 이해하기 위해서 가장 중요한 본문 중의 하나인 두 번째 하나님의 말씀에 관한 것이다. 하지만 하나님의 두 번째 말씀을 이해하기 위해서는 무엇보다도 베헤못과 리워야단이 언급되는 배경과 이들의 정체에 대해서 알아야 한다. 이 두 신화적인 존재에 대한 설명과 이해 없이 두 번째 하나님의 말씀을 파악하기는 어렵다. 그러기에 본 논문에서는 이 두 신화적인 동물인 베헤못과 리워야단이 어떤 존재이고, 어떤 이유로 언급되고 있는지에 대한 설명과 이해를 통해서 두 번째 하나님의 말씀 전체를 해명해 내고자 한다. 오트마 켈(O. Keel)은 이 두 동물의 기원을 이집트의 신 호루스가 악의 신인 셋의 화신으로서의 하마와 악어를 사냥하고, 죽이는 신화에서 찾는다. 하지만 욥기에 묘사되는 하나님은 호루스 신화와 달리 혼돈의 상징인 이 두 동물과 적대적인 관계가 아니라, 두 동물을 창조하시고, 다스리시고, 통제하신다는 사실이다. 이렇듯 하나님께서는 선한 영역이든, 악의 영역이든 전체 창조세계의 창조주로 언급된다. 비록 세상에 혼돈의 영역이 존재하지만, 하나님께서 그것들을 통제하심으로 이 세상의 질서를 잡아가시고 계신다. 세상이 악의 수중에 완전히 넘어가지 않은 것은 하나님의 계획(섭리) 속에서 인간 세상을 하나님께서 정의와 법으로 다스리시고 계시기 때문이다. 이것을 증명하는 실례로써 혼돈을 상징하는 베헤못과 리워야단이 언급되었다. 결국 이러한 하나님의 두 번째 말씀은 욥의 생각의 변화를 이끌어 내고 있는 욥의 두 번째 답변으로 인도한다. 하나님과 욥의 대화는 욥과 친구들의 논쟁과 달리 둘 사이의 새로운 관계를 만들어 낸다. 이것으로 하나님과 욥 사이에 흘렀던 긴장 사라지고, 욥에게 하나님과 세상, 그리고 인간 자신을 향한 새로운 관점이 생겼음을 알게 된다. This paper is about God’s Second Speech, one of the most important texts in order to understand Job as a whole. But in order to understand God's second Speech, above all, we need to know the background behind the references to Behemoth and Leviathan and their identity. It is difficult to grasp the second Divine Speech without explaining and understanding these two mythical beings. Therefore, in this paper, I would like to clarify God’s second speech through explanation and understanding of what these two mythical animals, Behemoth and Leviathan, are and why they are mentioned. O. Keel searches for the origins of these two animals in the Egyptian myth that Horus hunts and kills hippos and crocodiles as the incarnations of ‘Set’(Seth). However, unlike the myth of Horus, the God depicted in the book of Job is not a hostile relationship with these two animals, which are symbols of chaos, but God create, rule, and control them. In this way, God is called the creator of the whole world, both in the realm of good and in the realm of evil. Even though there are realms of chaos in the world, by controlling them, God keeps the order of this world. The fact that the world has not completely fallen into chaos is because the human world is governed by God's definition and law in God's plan (providence). Behemoth and Leviathan, which symbolize chaos, were mentioned as examples to prove this. In the end, such a second word of God changes Job's thinking and leads to Job's second answer. The dialogue between God and Job, unlike the discussion between Job and his friends, creates a new relationship between them. Finally, this removes the tension between God and Job, and gives Job a new point of view for God, the world, and man himself. |
