This study has attempted to demonstrate that all covenants as set forth in the Bible constitute an organic unity with one another, on the basis that they can be regarded as creation covenants which have implications for the created order. It is generally noted that while the Noahic covenant, the Abraham covenant, and the Davidic covenant belong to the category of unconditional covenant, the Mosaic covenant is a conditional covenant. However, as Bruce K. Waltke has noted, all covenants have both the unconditional aspect and the conditional aspect in their nature, thereby forming an organic connection to each other. Above all, all covenants share a common ground in that they all have creation dimensions. To argue for this thesis, our first attention has been devoted to the relationship between creation and history. The chaos motif prevalent in the creation passages of the Old Testament are mainly used in reference to historical events. This entails that the Old Testament views creation and history as being in a close relationship. There are wide ranging perspectives in scholarly opinions about the relationship between creation and history. In this regard, it is argued that the relationship between creation and history should be understood as a mutual relationship in which they influence each other. From this observation, it may well be said that all covenants that God entered into with his people in history have the significance of keeping the created order on firmer ground as well as redeeming God's people. This finding lends more support to the notion that all covenants form an organic unity with one another. Such a view on the relationship between creation and covenant in history sheds a light into the theological meaning of the new covenant. In a nutshell, the new covenant as the consummation of creation and history has the function of fulfilling and completing the previous covenants, so that the new covenant accompanies a new created order which is characterized by a new heaven and a new earth. Also, the creation dimension of the new covenant makes us open our eyes to the obligation which we should have for creation.
