| Title | 시편 8편과 104편의 생태학적 읽기와 신학적 성찰 |

| Abstract | 이 논제는 환경파괴와 생명 자체를 위협하는 생태위기 가속화라는 현실 인식에 대한 생태신학적인 응답이다. 이 연구는 생태학과 구약신학의 학제간 연구로서, 창조 시편으로 불리는 시편 8편과 104편의 간본문적 관계를 염두에 둔 것이며 하나님과 인간, 그리고 자연 생태계를 생태학적인 관점에서 재의미화하는 것이다. 그 목적은 첫째, 모든 생물권에 대한 신학적인 인식의 전환을 목표한다. 즉 모든 피조물을 창조세계의 구성원으로 동등하게 받아들이고, 생태 윤리적 올바름에 기여하기 위함이다. 둘째, 창조세계의 관리인으로서 인류의 역할을 재고하며 창조와 돌봄에 대한 성경적인 관점 제시와 생태학적인 책임성 고취에 있다. 두 시편은 광활한 창조세계 찬미뿐만 아니라 인간의 존재 목적을 일깨운다. 이것은 모든 생명체들의 복잡한 연결망이 창조질서에 따라 인류와 모든 동식물의 위계적인 질서가 아니라 동등한 지구 공동체로서의 공존을 강조한다. 인간은 하나님으로부터 왕적인 다스림의 권한을 위임 받았지만(시 8:5-6), 여호와의 손으로 지음 받은 존재로서 다른 피조물처럼 하나님의 돌봄을 받는 존재다(시 8:4). 특히 시편 104편에서 인간은 모든 피조물과 동반자적인 관계 안에서 하나님의 돌봄을 받는 존재임을 계시한다(시 104:24, 27). 이 시편은 창조 세계 안에서 인류의 배타적 주권을 옹호하지 않는 것이며, 인류가 다른 피조물에게 가하는 폭력적인 착취와 파괴를 정당화시키지 않는다. 그러므로 인간이 하나님으로부터 받은 지상 명령은(창1:26-28; 참고. 시8:5-8) 시편 8편과 104편 사이의 긴장과 조화를 통해 인간중심적인 신학의 기울기를 지구와 하나님 중심의 신학으로 이동시킨다. 이처럼 두 시편의 생태학적인 읽기는 생태적으로 ‘나-너-우리’(모든 동식물 포함)가 서로 연결된 존재로서 만물의 평화로운 공존을 각성시키며 고통 받는 모든 피조물 편에 서는 일이다. As an interdisciplinary study of ecology and Old Testament theology, this paper explores the biblical role of mankind in the context of creation, and it is a response to the on-going environmental crisis that have been caused by human existence. It tries to shed light on the meaning of God, humans, and other creations through Psalms 8 and 104, which are widely known as the creation psalms. There are two main ideas that this paper attempts to achieve. First is to change the perception of biosphere through ecological theology which is to accept all creations as equal members within God’s creative world. This will lead to ecological and ethical correctness. Second is to reevaluate the role of mankind as the caretaker of the creative world and to promote ecological responsibility through biblical perspectives of creation and care implied by two poems, Psalms 8 and 104. The two poems bring out not only the admiration of God’s creation manifested in our world but also the purpose of human existence. The poems emphasize the idea of equal coexistence as a global community, rather than hierarchical structure which places a divide between mankind and the rest of creation according to their creation order. Even though human beings have been entrusted with the authority of kingly rule (Ps. 8:5-6), they are being looked after by God just like the other creatures (Ps. 8:4) as humans are beings also created by the hands of the Creator. In particular, Psalm 104 reveals that human beings are being cared for by God in partnership with all creation (Psalm 104:24, 27). It also does not uphold the exclusive sovereignty of mankind in creation, nor does it justify the violent exploitation and destruction that mankind inflicts on other creatures. Therefore, to correctly understand the cultural mandate received from God (Gen. 1:26-28; cf. Psalm 8:5-8) we must understand the tension and harmony between Psalm 8 and 104 which helps us shift the focus of creation from human to earth and to move from an anthropocentric theology to a God-centered theology. This ecological reading of the two psalms awakens the need for peaceful coexistence of all things being interconnected as “I-you-us” (including all animals and plants) and allows us to stand on the side of all suffering creatures. |
