| Title | 고난을 통한 신중한 자로의 욥의 변화: 하나님의 형상의 관점에서 |

| Abstract | 본 연구는 욥기 본문 분석을 통해서 욥이 고난을 통과하면서 상황에 속지 않고 공동체를 세우는 신중한 자로 변모했음을 추적했다. 처음 욥은 고난을 당할 때 죽고자 하는 마음을 가지고 더 이상 공동체의 일원으로서 살 수 없음을 한탄했다(3장). 하지만 점차 친구들과의 대화를 통해 자신의 고난이 인과응보의 원리로는 설명될 수 없음을 깨닫게 된다(4-27장). 고난을 맞이하여, 자신이 하나님의 형상의 영광을 잃어버렸기 때문에 공동체의 일원으로서의 삶을 포기했던 욥은 점차 자신이 무고하게 하나님의 형상의 영광을 잃었다는 사실에 눈을 뜨게 된 것이다. 그리하여 28장에서 욥은 하나님의 지혜는 인간의 지혜로 알 수 없음을 고백하고 다시 모든 것을 원점에서 숙고하기 시작한다. 29-31장에서 욥은 하나님께 소환장을 제출하며 자신의 고난의 원인이 무엇인지를 밝혀 달라고 강력하게 요청한다. 그러면서 욥은 무고하게 하나님이 자신의 하나님의 형상의 영광을 거둬 가셨음을 항의한다(29:14, 20, 25). 욥기에서 하나님의 형상의 의미는 공동체를 위한 존재라는 의미를 가지고 있다. 따라서 욥의 항의 배후에는 다시 하나님의 형상으로서 공동체의 일원으로 복귀하고자 하는 그의 희망이 담겨 있다. 처음 죽고자 했던 욥이 이제 공동체를 위하고 그것을 세우는 신중한 자로 변모하게 되었음을 보여 주는 대목이다. 이어 욥은 엘리후의 발언(32-37장)에서 고난 가운데서 자신이 의로움을 지키는 모습이 하나님에게 유익을 줄 수 있다는 가능성에 눈을 뜨게 된다(35:7). 이후 하나님의 지혜 연설(38-41장)을 들은 욥은 자신이 고난을 당해도 하나님의 형상의 위상이 훼손된 것이 아님을 깨닫게 된다. 그리하여 고난에 처해 있을지라도 여전히 자신이 하나님의 형상임을 알게 된다. 하나님의 형상으로서 하나님의 대리 통치자인 그는 무질서의 세력을 물리치고 세상으로 대변되는 하나님 나라를 세우는 의무가 있다는 사실을 깨닫는다. 고난 가운데서도 공동체를 세우는 하나님의 형상의 임무가 있음을 알게 된 욥은 더욱 공동체를 위해 기도하고 공동체 일원을 소중하게 여기는 자로 변신한다(42:7-17). 고난의 유무와 상관없이 공동체를 공의와 의로 더욱 효율적으로 세워나가는 신중한 자로의 변신한 것이다. This work has pursued a study on the transformation of Job into a prudent person in the process of his suffering, thereby arguing that Job's suffering has enabled him to become a prudent person of integrity who passionately contributes to building up his community without being deceived. To this end, our attention has been devoted to the structural analysis and exegesis of the Job text. First, Job lamented that he could not live as a part of his community because of his suffering. However, through his conversations with his three friends, he came to the realization that his suffering cannot be explained by the principle of retributive justice (chapters 4-27). He opened his eyes to the fact that he lost his status as the image of God without causes. This leads him to his confession that God's wisdom is beyond human understanding (chapters 28). In chapters 29-31, Job wishes a hearing from God with the claim that he is not guilty of any wrong. Job testifies that God takes away his glory as the image of God without causes (29:14, 20, 25). In the book of Job, the theme of the image of God implies that a human is an existence for the community that he belongs to. Accordingly, Job's wish for a hearing from God includes his hope of returning to a part of his community. This is indicative that he is changing to be a prudent person for the sake of communal life. Elihu's speeches (chapters 32-37) provides him with the insight that keeping his righteousness in the midst of suffering could work for the benefit of God. This is more evident when he listens to God's wisdom speeches (chapters 38-41). After God's speeches, Job enlarges his horizon of wisdom with the knowledge that he, even though in the midst of suffering, is still the image of God who rules over the world and builds up the kingdom of God. As a result, he is transformed throughout his suffering to be a prudent person who takes care of his community (42:7-17). |
