| Abstract | 본 논문은 시내 산 문단(출 19:1-24:11) 안에 두 개의 법전(십계명과 언약 책)과 다섯 개의 내러티브 단락이 어떤 방식과 의도로 배열되어 있는지를 정경적 관점으로 탐구한 연구다. 이 연구는 시내 산 문단 안에 교차적으로 배열된 법과 내러티브가 문학적인 연속성을 획득하기 위해 저자가 사용한 고유한 저작 기법이라고 주장한다. 이러한 주장을 뒷받침하기 위해서, 해당 논문은 시내 산 위에 임재하신 하나님과 산 아래에 머물고 있던 이스라엘 백성들 사이를 빈번히 오가며 언약을 중재한 모세의 수직적인 움직임을 매개로 하는 내러티브 구성방식을 강조한다. 특히 이 논문은 시내 산 문단의 구성방식 때문에 이차적으로 발생하게 되는 문학적인 문제들을 해결하려는 기존의 공시적 접근법들을 적극 활용한다. 즉 시내 산 문단이 전적으로 시간적 구성에 따라 배열된 것이 아니라, 그 내러티브의 흐름과 논리에 따라 주요 사건들과 법 조항들을 재조명하거나 다시 설명하는 방법으로 구성되었다는 기존의 이론들을 수용 및 발전시킴으로써, 시내 산 문단이 문학적인 연속성 내지는 통일성을 획득함은 물론 하나님과 이스라엘 사이에 체결된 언약이라는 주제를 보다 구체적으로 드러낸 본문이라는 주장과 함께 결론을 맺는다. This study sets out a new literary understanding of the Sinai Pericope in Exodus 19:1-24:11. Traditional historical-critics assume that the textually irregular mix of law and narrative in the Sinai Pericope was an arbitrary arrangement that points to the text’s complicated prehistory without any literary coherence. Over against such a reading, this study demonstrates the literary structure of the Sinai Pericope as a whole, and then surveys synchronic discussions of its formation of the legal and narrative material. Drawing upon insights from such discussions, it explores the narrated events understood through the plot development (rather than as the order of the events) with respect to Moses’ repeated ascents and descents of Mount Sinai, for the sake of achieving his mediation of the covenantal relationship between Yahweh on top of the mountain and the Israelites at the bottom of it. This study concludes therefore that the complex composite text known as the Sinai Pericope can be read coherent as a literary whole. |
